BSc IN GLOBAL CHALLENGES HONOURS BACHELOR DEGREE technologies, and their effect on the future of work, environmental impacts and community interaction. Youwill engage in areas such as climate change, sustainability and renewable energy, gender stereotypes, fake news, global health, global inequality, environment, social cohesion, and security. Solutions to these problems will be explored through simulations, hackathons and interdisciplinary team-work. Challenges will be inspired by examples from the public, private, andNGO sectors, as well as student-generated challenges. This degreewill equip you to develop socially effective technological solutions to real problems and youwill have the skills towork acrossmany disciplines, crossing traditional boundaries in solving complex real world problems whilst gaining the ability to plan and manage projects involvingmultiple stakeholders. This will be based on an understanding of the full societal, economic and political impacts of implementing novel technological solutions. Course Structure In each year of the course your modules will cover fundamental technical knowledge of electronic engineering, computer science and data science, and also the fundamental theories of social science, policy and politics, with an international context of these topics. Each year therewill be an interdisciplinary project related to a global challenge. This project will involve creative problemsolving by proposing technological solutions while taking into account the social implications of the proposed solutions. Work placement (INTRA) in Year 3will provide youwith a chance towork in a real work environment in private and public sectors. Assessment each year will bemainly project based through simulations and hackathons for amore engaging learning experience involving industry partners.
