2021 EDITION 7 MARK BARRY BA Accounting and Finance, 2021 Alumni Relations Student Ambassador Mark Barry recently commenced his Masters in Accounting and Finance here at DCU but prior to this, he worked with the team to highlight the achievements of our graduates through social media postings and messaging across DCU Alumni channels, as well as collaborating with the DCU Communications and Marketing Team. Mark was involved in the organisation of various Alumni events and communicating our various volunteer opportunities with DCU graduates. ELLA BOWLER BA Joint Honours: English and Philosophy student Alumni Relations Student Ambassador Ella Bowler completed a summer internship as part of the Access to the Workplace initiative. During that time, Ella completed administrative tasks, social media and communications, as well as writing and editing for both the DCU Alumni website and the DCU Voices magazine. Ella recently commenced the final year of the BA English and Philosophy. LEANNE HANAFIN Alumni Relations Officer BA Communication Studies, 2019 Leanne Hanafin oversees various events and initiatives throughout the year. The key event is the annual Alumni Awards, which she helps coordinate. A graduate of the BA Communication Studies from 2019, Leanne has strong qualifications in social media and communications, and also coordinates projects and initiatives across this field, such as the Alumni Instagram Takeover, the Alumni Spotlight: Business Owners and Alumni Spotlight: Global Community features. LIAMKANE Alumni Events Assistant MSc Human Resource Management, 2010 During his time with our team, Liam worked across a number of important engagement initiatives for the Alumni Office. Liam was the Administrator for the Emerging Leaders Programme, and contributed greatly to our Mentorship offering at DCU. After graduating in 2010, Liam spent a decade working in the Technology Industry in both HR and HRIS positions before joining the Alumni Relations Office in 2019. Liam recently took up an exciting position in the tech industry. MARY LARKIN GRIFFIN Alumni Relations Officer Mary Larkin is an experienced Alumni Relations Officer with 10 years’ experience in higher education, gained through a variety of roles in alumni relations, membership events and data initiatives. Mary works closely with various DCU departments to deliver alumni engagement through events, communications and developing the alumni database to maintain lifelong relationships with graduates. She is a graduate of Dundalk Institute of Technology (MBS, 2009 and BBS, 2007) and the Digital Marketing Institute of Ireland (PGD Digital Marketing, 2015). LISAMCKEOWN Alumni Relations Administrator Lisa McKeown is involved in the overseeing of our Keep in Touch campaign, an important initiative that allows us to create and maintain relationships with our Alumni Community. When a graduate updates their contact details to receive news and event communications from the university, Lisa assists in updating this information to our Alumni database in order to provide graduates with relevant opportunities.
