Additional Requirements In addition to the general entry requirements for admission to the University (see page 174), the following entry requirements apply: minimum of O4 or H6 inMathematics PLUS aH4 in French (DC112), German (DC113) or Spanish (DC114). Understanding: Global Business The BA inGlobal Business is a unique course, combining a broad understanding of international business with intercultural experience andwork placements. As such, youwill gain the necessary knowledge and skills towork in the challenging and diverseworld of international business. Course Structure Youwill spend Years 1 and 2 inDCU (including a paidwork placement in Ireland) and Years 3 and 4 in the relevant partner institution abroad, where you study through that country’s language and university system. Youwill also go on a paidwork placement while abroad. At the end of your 4 years of study, you will graduatewith 2 degrees, 1 fromDCU and 1 from the partner institution. Business: Themain emphasis is on business subjects. Over the 4 years, youwill gain an understanding of the principles of business, especially international business. In Years 1 and 2, youwill study subjects such as accounting, finance, economics andmarketing. On transferring to the partner institution in Year 3, the focus on international business continues, and in Year 4 you have the opportunity to specialise in a variety of business areas. Language andCulture: For students on DC112, DC113 andDC114, the course includes the study of European political, cultural and social developments. These are combinedwith the study of French, German or Spanish, whichwill be your working language of Years 3 and 4 of the course. Overseas students have the opportunity to learn another European language or Chinese in Years 1 and 2. Students on theUSAandCanada courses studyNorth American history, politics and business practice, and also have the option to study a second language.
