177 AdvancedEntry Candidates currently taking higher education studies at another institutionmay apply to transfer onto a similar course of study at DCUby applying via the Advanced Entry route on the CAOwebsite. Applications will open inNovember each year. Not all courses facilitate advanced entry applications. Whenmaking an Advanced Entry application you can also apply for standard undergraduate entry using the same application form. The following steps should be takenwhenmaking a deferred application: 1. The offer of a place should not be accepted through the CAO 2. The applicant receiving an offer should email deferredapplications@dcu.ie no later than two days before the CAO reply date for their offer. The email must include: CAO Number Degree CourseOffered Reason for wishing to defer Applicants Contact TelephoneNumber DCUAccess Entry Route (ADER) The ADER is for school leavers fromsocio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Eligible students compete for a college place froma quota of reduced points places or for a number of subsidised on-campus accommodation scholarships. Applicants who get a university place through ADER also get a range of personal, academic and social support. For more information, please visit dcu.ie/access/access-dcu-entry-route-ader DisabilityAccess Route to Education (DARE) DARE is for school leavers who have the ability to benefit from, and succeed in, higher education but whomay not meet the points requirements for their preferred course due to the effects of a disability. Youmust be under 23 years of age and present with an Irish LeavingCertificate, A-Levels and/or other EUqualifications. Applicants will compete for a quota of college places allocated to applicants on a reduced-points basis. Students who receive a DARE offer must register with theDisability and Learning Support Services and agree on a schedule of meetings with the service. Please note: − There is one application form for both programmes and you must indicate if youwish to apply for one or both programmes − Applicants that apply for the CAOPoints Concession programmemust alsomake an application for aDCU course of study through the CAO, from earlyNovember 2024 until 1May 2025 − DCUPerformance Sport online application will open in February 2025 The closing date for applications is 1May 2025.
