177 AdvancedEntry Candidates currently taking higher education studies at another institutionmay apply to transfer onto a similar course of study at DCUby applying via the Advanced Entry route on the CAOwebsite. Applications will open inNovember each year. Not all courses facilitate advanced entry applications. All advanced entry applicationsmust be accompanied by transcripts and the course syllabus for your current course of study. An interviewmay be required as part of the application assessment. Courses that accept advanced entry applications have a limited number of places every year, so this is a competitive route. Whenmaking an Advanced Entry application you can also apply for standard undergraduate entry using the same application form. The following steps should be takenwhenmaking a deferred application: 1. The offer of a place should not be accepted through the CAO 2. The applicant receiving an offer should email deferredapplications@dcu.ie no later than two days before the CAO reply date for their offer. The email must include: CAO Number Degree CourseOffered Reason for wishing to defer Applicants Contact TelephoneNumber DCUAccess Entry Route (ADER) The ADER is for school leavers fromsocio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Eligible students compete for a college place froma quota of reduced points places or for a number of subsidised on-campus accommodation scholarships. Applicants who get a university place through ADER also get a range of personal, academic and social support. Applicantsmust be under 23 years of age and a resident of the Republic of Ireland. Applicants will compete for a quota of college places allocated to applicants on a reduced- points basis. Students who receive aDARE offer must register with theDisability and Learning Support Services and agree on a schedule of meetings with the service.
