Student Advice and Learning Skills Centre The Student Advice and Learning Skills Centre is the place to go for all information on student support at DCU. We offer advice and guidance on everything from settling into university to exam preparation and financial assistance. Students can make a one-to-one appointment or drop in to see a Student Advisor. The Learning Support Service also offers workshops and one-to-one meetings to help students with various aspects of learning at Third Level. We also offer extensive online resources through DEVELOP, our digital resource hub. Our Writing Centre is very popular with postgraduate students, helping them to enhance their writing skills. The Centre also offers life coaching on a one-to-one basis or through the Pathways to Success programme. We take care of the physical health needs of our students and provide information about external specialist services where relevant. The service is staffed by counselling psychologists/psychotherapists and psychotherapists at an advanced stage in training. We offer one-to-one counselling, professional crisis support and expert advice on a range of personal and psychological health and developmental issues. In line with best practice guidelines, we coordinate a range of supports for students who are registered with the service to ensure they have equity of access to their studies. There are eight different areas of support includingWellbeing, Study Skills, Mental Health, Life Skills, Career Focus, Digital Skills, Our Services, and Settling In.
