Application of Lean Principles to FixturingDesign for LaserWelding Process Optimisation This project explores the application of lean principles to improve fixturing design in the laser welding process. By optimising fixture stability and alignment, the research aims to enhance weld precision, reduce setup times, andminimise material waste. Usingmethodologies such as 5S, SMED, and digital lean techniques, the study develops an innovative fixturing solution to improve efficiency and quality in medical device manufacturing. Experimental validation demonstrates the effectiveness of lean-inspired fixture designs, leading to significant advancements in productivity and cost reduction. This research contributes tomanufacturing innovation by bridging lean theory with practical implementation.
